Ongoing Research

Automated Solar Plant Cleaning System (S.P.C.S) for BRAC University Solar Rooftop
Funded by: Department of Operations, BRAC University

This research is focused on developing an efficient, industrial-grade solar panel cleaning system for BRAC University’s 1.4 MW Solar Power Plant. The objective is to enhance performance, overcome operational challenges, and identify issues faced by cleaning systems in other PV power plants.

Sustainable Business Model for Agrivoltaic Pilot Project in Bangladesh
Funded by: BIGD-H&M Foundation Funded; MOU With BRACU EEE for Technical Consultation

Investigating the potential of agrivoltaics in Bangladesh by integrating solar power with agriculture. The study explores land-use challenges, policy barriers, and socio-economic impacts across diverse regions to identify adoption factors and support a fair, sustainable energy transition.

Capacity Building of Factories in Sustainability and Climate Action
Funded by: BIGD-supported by the Danish Embassy in Bangladesh; MOU With BRACU EEE for Technical Consultation.

The Capacity Building of Factories in Sustainability and Climate Action project focuses on energy management within Bangladesh’s RMG and textile sectors. Supported by the Danish Embassy, it collects data from 500 factories to develop a sustainable energy pathway. The initiative is a collaboration between BIGD, BRAC University’s EEE Department, CED, and Green Tree Building Consultants.

Infrared Thermography Based Non- Destructive Testing, Condition Monitoring & Performance Analysis of PV Modules
Funded by: Research Seed Grant Initiative (RSGI), BRAC University

This study applies infrared thermography for non-destructive testing and condition monitoring of photovoltaic (PV) modules. It focuses on detecting thermal anomalies, identifying faults, and analyzing performance degradation to enhance reliability, safety, and efficiency in solar power systems.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Based Solar Panel Inspection System (S.P.I.S) for BRAC University Rooftop Solar Power Plant
Funded by: Department of Operations, BRAC University

This project develops a UAV-based Solar Panel Inspection System (S.P.I.S) for BRAC University’s rooftop solar power plant. Using aerial imaging and thermal analysis, the system enables rapid, accurate detection of faults and performance issues, improving maintenance efficiency and operational reliability.
